CompassSure is a travel insurance comparison and information website. We are committed to being transparent about the limited data we handle. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit our site.

1. What CompassSure Does

CompassSure provides editorial content and comparison information to help UK travellers find travel insurance. When you click through to a provider, you leave our site and interact directly with that provider. We do not:

  • Collect health or medical information
  • Have user accounts, registration forms, or login systems
  • Process payments or handle insurance transactions

The only data collected on CompassSure comes from Google Analytics (GA4) and standard web server logs:

  • Usage data: pages visited, time on site, traffic source, and navigation paths
  • Technical data: browser type, device type, screen resolution, operating system, and approximate geographic region (country/city level, not precise location)
  • Referral data: how you arrived at our site (e.g. search engine, direct link)

This data is anonymised and aggregated. We cannot identify individual visitors from this information.

Our website uses a small number of cookies:

  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*): used to distinguish users and understand site usage. These expire after 2 years or when you clear your browser cookies. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by GA4 — see policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Cloudflare cookies: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set strictly necessary cookies for security and performance purposes.

We do not use marketing cookies, retargeting pixels, or advertising trackers.

When you click a link to a provider on our site, you are redirected through our tracking system to the provider's website via FlexOffers (our affiliate network). This redirect includes a sub-ID parameter (e.g. fobs=compasssure-single-trip) so we can see which pages generate clicks. This does not contain any personal data.
